Breast Feeding After Surgery

A recent study in the journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery looked into the important issue of breastfeeding after breast augmentation. They compared the ability to breast feed in 100 women who had breast augmentation and 100 women who did not.

Their results showed that 93% of women with breast implants were able to successfully breastfeed after surgery, compared to 99% of women without breast implants.

These results support the fact that the vast majority of women who undergo breast augmentation are able to breastfeed. Thus, women considering surgery, who are worried about the ability to breast feed, should feel encouraged to know these results.
